Outfit of the Day: Two Outfits Just before the Thanksgiving Holiday

These two outfits were worn out the weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

On this particular weekend we were having really great warmish weather for being the end of November. Because the warm sun was shining I wanted to take advantage of the great weather since a cold spell was predicted to be on its way.

Outfit of the Day:

Saturday:
For Saturday I went with something completely colorful and very unlike fall and wore my Trashy Diva Sweetie dress in Tropical Floral though I did still have to wear my opaque tights to keep my legs warm. I also paired this with a purple cardigan which I got a couple years ago from Nordstrom Rack and black flats.

Sunday:
On Sunday since I had a feeling it might be the last warmish weekend we would have for a while I wanted to wear my Trashy Diva Jenny long sleeve dress so that I could take advantage of not having to wear this dress with too many layers. It was so great not having to cover up these sleeves with a cardigan (though by the end of the day I kind of wish I had brought my jacket!). I paired this with black opaque tights, a green cloche hat which I got a couple years ago from Nordstrom Rack, and for an extra finishing touch added my 1920's style dangle earrings by 1928 which I got from Mervyn's before they closed up all their shops several years ago. On Sunday we went to the mall for some early Christmas shopping and some lunch and what do you know, I picked up another perfect accessory for my outfit, a cream colored faux fur stole which I got at Forever 21!

Outfit of the Day: Warm Watercolors in Autumn Explosion!

This is another outfit a bit out of order on the blog, but here it is anyway...

I wore this outfit for another weekend day of errands a few weeks ago. On this day Tim and I went to Michael's for craft supplies, Petco for cat food, Tuesday Morning to check it out, and then off to lunch at Panera Bread.

Outfit of the Day:
For this day, realizing how quickly autumn seems to be passing by, I decided to amp up my autumn wardrobe and wore one of my favorite autumn dresses, my Trashy Diva Doris dress in Warm Watercolors. I paired this with maroon tights, brown herringbone flats from the Gap Outlet, a mustard colored cropped cardigan by MAK from Modcloth, and a brown fedora which I got from T.J. Maxx.

While this isn't my Thanksgiving day dress, I'm happy I got to get this post out right before Thanksgiving! For those of you in the States I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and for those of you participating in sales, I hope you all have a great and productive Black Friday! :D

Outfit of the Day: Crepe Myrtle for Any Occasion

This post is now super out of order (as you can tell from the Halloween decorations I have up in the pics) but here it is anyway.

Outfit of the Day:
On this weekend Tim and I enjoyed a relatively quiet weekend at home but we did end up leaving the house for a bit to run some errands. To do some quick errands I threw on one of my favorite go-to dresses, my Trashy Diva Ashley dress in Crepe Myrtle. I paired this with a green cropped cardigan by MAK which I got from Modcloth and some black flats.

Outfit of the Day: Autumn Flavored Cat Print For a Cat Filled Day!

So the weekend before last was one filled with lots of mixed emotions.

On Sunday Tim and I started the day by going to the Internet Cat Video Festival in San Jose. It was a completely packed theater but we were glad to be sitting inside an actual theater and not watching it outside as I've heard some other cat video festivals do it. The festival was a lot of fun. One hour full of internet cat videos. Some really silly, some really funny, and some a little more serious. I mainly was interested in the slice of life videos that caught cats doing crazy and funny things, but some of the videos were more put together like actual movies with actual stories. There were even some animated short movies shown. Overall, it was a lot of fun and I would definitely go back again next year if I can!

After the cat video festival Tim and I went out to lunch. I picked a nearby New Orleans style restaurant, Poor House Bistro. The food was pretty good. I ordered beignets and a muffaletta (a salami and ham sandwich with lots of olives), and Tim ordered the sampler platter which came with gumbo, red beans and rice, jambalaya, and corn bread. We were surprised to see the place was so hopping! They had a zydeco band set up and playing just outside in the seating area out there. Overall they did a great job with the ambiance of the place. It felt just like being in New Orleans!

The next stop was the Dancing Cat cat cafe, our real reason for leaving the house that day! You can see my post on our last day at the Dancing Cat here.

Outfit of the Day:
For this day's activities I knew I had to wear another cat related outfit. I knew just the piece! I got this skirt by Retrolicious for my birthday with a gift certificate for Modcloth from my friend. It's one of the best cat prints ever... kitties and books, oh my! The hues on this are so autumn so I knew it would be the perfect one to wear this autumn weekend before the winter comes in full force. I paired this skirt with a black knit sweater top by Kling which I also got from Modcloth last year. To stay warm I also paired this with black tights and a red cardigan which I got a couple years back from Nordstrom Rack. I picked some red flats by Ecco to wear this with it. I finally found my perfect red flats! I found these on ebay after years of searching for just this pair!

Farewell Dancing Cat- You Will Be Missed!

Last weekend was the final weekend for the Dancing Cat cat cafe.

Tim and I went on Sunday to say farewell and to see this place, and the cats, one final time. It was hustling and bustling with lots of visitors that day as it was the last day they were going to be open. The Dancing Cat always was set up as a temporary pop up cat cafe and actually ended up staying open several months longer than they expected, but even knowing they were not going to be around for long, it was still awfully sad to see them go!

Because they were a lot busier than usual, I think the cats were especially tired that day. It was great to see though that most all of the cats there found placement in permanent homes and were just awaiting their next move. The Dancing Cat did such an amazing job while they were open! In fact, in their short time there they found loving permanent homes for 48 cats! :D :D :D

My heart was so sad though to see that while an amazing 48 cats found forever homes there were two beautiful great cats that did not, two cats that have been there every time we went to visit, Blanche and Dixie. I asked about what will happen to these two kitties. They will go back to the shelter they came from, Town Cats, a local no-kill shelter. I went to Town Cats' website and learned that Dixie and Blanche are both at the Petsmart in San Jose on Curtner Ave. where they can be seen by potential families to adopt them. I hope they will find forever homes soon. They were always so gentle, loving, and playful cats every time we saw them. I ask Tim every day if we can go get them but he thinks four cats in our small house will be too much. I keep asking but in the mean time, I hope they will find good homes soon.

Welcome back to the Dancing Cat!

Farewell Dancing Cat- what a great job you did! You will be missed!

I'm so happy I was able to visit this wonderful cat place and get to know the kitties there and the lovely ladies that made this all happen. I wish everyone, human and kitty, lots of luck with what the future holds!
